My sister put this quote on the family website and I just love it. I was talking to my friend about how easy it is to put ourselves down so others don't feel inadequate around us, but this quote is a good reminder of what we should do.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
podged with christmas paper. Each day the kids get to open a box and inside will be an idea of something Christmas-y to do. Like a recipe for snowman soup (see below), read a Christmas story or go to the Nativity. I know they will love this new tradition. It was so easy to make, and it was really fun hanging out with the girls at the same time! We are still looking for things to put in our boxes.... does anyone have any ideas?
